Larry and Thelnita Fincher
Larry D. Fincher and Thelnita B. Fincher have been married 40 years. They have a son, daughter, and five grandsons. The Finchers are co-founders and Directors of HomeBuilders Ministry, a ministry of Rowland Road Baptist Church, Monroe, Louisiana that “equips families to live successfully God’s way.” Together the Finchers have presented family and leadership seminars, conferences, and retreats nationally and internationally in the areas of marriage, parenting, finance, teen sexual purity, and leadership.
Larry is the Family Pastor at Rowland Road Baptist Church, Monroe Louisiana and is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Over the last 35 years he has studied extensively, developed material, counseled, and taught classes pertaining to the Christian family and leadership. He received a BSEE and MSEE from the University of Arkansas and until taking early retirement was employed as a Director for Entergy Corporation covering Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and the City of New Orleans. He has over thirty years of leadership experience in the church, corporations, civic, and professional organizations.
Thelnita received a BS in Home Economics from the University of North Texas. She is a certified teacher in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana with 29 years of teaching experience in child development, parenting, consumer education, marriage, and interpersonal relationships at the high school and middle school levels. She has extensive experience speaking and ministering to ladies groups. Both Larry and Thelnita are certified counselors in the PREPARE/ENRICH program.

HomeBuilders Ministry is an outreach of Rowland Road Baptist Church of Monroe, Louisiana, equipping families to live successfully God's way. It is the outgrowth and extension of a ministry of the HomeBuilders Sunday School Class developed over a number of years at Olive Street Baptist Church Pine Bluff, Arkansas by Larry and Thelnita Fincher.
Proverbs 24:3,4 "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." expresses the foundation of the ministry -- that an application of biblical principles on a daily basis with reliance upon the power of the Holy Spirit will build strong, stable families.
The ministry has and is developing practical teachings for the family in the areas of marriage, parenting, finances, leadership, and career.
These teaching are centered on both biblical principles (knowledge and understanding) and application (wisdom) pertaining to daily problems facing the family. Through learning and applying biblical principles the family can be all that God intended it to be.
